Exciting day for the science team as Salzburg’s biggest fans show their support and gratitude for the successful launch and record breaking supersonic jump.
Here’s the wrap up from Austria: First stop - Hangar 7 in Salzburg, Austria. This was the eye candy of the trip. Imagine being a chocolate addict in a chocolate factory, all senses were stimulated to the max. Red Bull pilots at Hangar 7 invited Joe Kittinger to fly the entire Red Bull Stratos team in a DC-6. It was a wild ride carving around the Alps in Austria. Back at the hangar Mike Jacobs and Capsule Crew Chief Jon Wells found their 2nd love for video games and Dr. Jon Clark stood in awe of the Red Bull P-38 Lightning. Later in the day the entire crew was treated to a lovely meal and beautiful scenery at Scalaria at Wolfgangsee just in time for Roberta Thompson to get a birthday cake topped with a mini fireworks spectacle. Finally the team received the grandest entrance applause at Red Bull headquarters in Fuschl am See. The Stratos team was truly overwhelmed with joy by the show of support.
